Brighton and Hove Comic Con comes to Brighton Dome this September

Brighton is getting its very own Comic Con. Brighton and Hove Comic Con lands at the Brighton Dome on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, a full weekend of film, TV, gaming, anime, comics and cosplay in one of the city's most iconic venues.

The event is presented by Screentear Events, a brand new, family-run Brighton business founded by local enthusiast Alex Phillips. After years of travelling the country visiting Comic Cons, the Phillips family kept asking why Brighton, with one of the most creative communities in the country, did not have one of its own. So they decided to build it themselves. This is their first ever event, and they are bringing it home to the city they love.

What to expect across the weekend

The two days will be packed. Visitors can expect celebrity guests, independent traders, artists, comics, collectibles, gaming, cosplayers, movie memorabilia, panels and family activities, with plenty of chances to meet other people from across this huge creative community.

Whether you are a lifelong Star Wars fan, into anime, Marvel or gaming, or simply after a fun family day out, the idea is that there is something for everyone. Screentear have been clear from the start that they want the event to feel welcoming, fun and community-driven, the kind of thing the city looks forward to every year.

The guests confirmed so far

Screentear have already lined up a strong list of names, with more announcements promised before the weekend.

Chris Bunn, known to Star Wars fans as the "Original Stormtrooper", will be appearing alongside Pam Rose, who played a female alien in the original Star Wars: A New Hope. Also confirmed is James Taylor, who worked as Kylo Ren's stand-in and double across the Star Wars sequel trilogy and has credits on Harry Potter, Marvel and many other Disney productions.

Joining them is Jonathan Cass, the British actor best known as the ISB Lieutenant in the award-winning Star Wars series Andor. His other screen credits include Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Jurassic World Rebirth, House of the Dragon, and No Time to Die, where he worked as a stand-in and double for Daniel Craig. He is appearing all weekend for photos and signings.

Cosplay is at the heart of it

Cosplay is one of the biggest parts of Comic Con culture, and Screentear want to make it a real feature of the weekend. There will be a cosplay competition at 4pm on both the Saturday and the Sunday, open to anyone, with prizes up for grabs.

Exhibitor cosplayers including Spirit Walker UK will be there across the weekend, with photo opportunities throughout. The message from the organisers is simple: whether you have spent months building a screen-accurate costume or just taped something together the night before, everyone is welcome to get involved and have fun.

Tickets and prices

Brighton and Hove Comic Con runs from 10am to 6pm on both Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026, with doors opening at 10am. Tickets are on sale now through the official Brighton Dome box office.

Day tickets are priced at £26 for adults (16 and over), £21 for youth (11 to 15) and £16 for children (6 to 10). Weekend tickets covering both days are £42.50 for adults, £32.50 for youth and £22.50 for children. Under-6s go free but still need a ticket.

Calling Brighton's traders, artists and makers

Screentear are still looking for vendors, traders and artists to be part of the first Brighton and Hove Comic Con. For small artists and independent creators it is a chance to show their work to a big crowd, and the organisers are keen for local businesses to help shape the event from year one.

Anyone interested in exhibiting or trading can get in touch at contact@screentearevents.com. The event already has backing from local names including Brighton Dome, Forbidden Planet and other Brighton pop culture retailers.

Built for Brighton, by Brightoners

Screentear describe the whole thing as an event built for Brighton, by Brightoners, and that local spirit runs through it. It is a family-run business taking on a huge challenge for the love of the city and its creative community, and they want the whole of Brighton and Hove to get behind it.

Brighton and Hove Comic Con takes place at the Brighton Dome on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026. Tickets are on sale now through the Brighton Dome, and the latest guest announcements and event news are on the Screentear Events website. Whether you are a lifelong fan or completely new to Comic Cons, this one is worth a look.
