Big Beach Boutique Afterparties
Fatboy Slim's Label Returns to Brighton for Two Nights at Patterns
Southern Fried Records, the label founded by Fatboy Slim, is returning to Brighton for two Big Beach Boutique afterparties at Patterns, bringing the celebrations full circle in the city where the label's story is deeply rooted.
A lot of people know Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, from Big Beach Boutique and hits like Praise You and Right Here, Right Now. Southern Fried Records was founded by Cook and Garry Blackburn back in 1994, originally as a way for Cook to release tracks under aliases like Mighty Dub Katz when major labels felt his ideas were too strange to bother with. Three decades on, the label passed its 500th release with a track called Role Model, and its back catalogue includes a UK number one remix of Elton John's Are You Ready For Love and hits from Armand Van Helden.
With Big Beach Boutique now in its seventh edition, Southern Fried Records is taking over the afterparty, honouring a legacy that stretches back to the original beach event that helped cement Brighton's reputation as one of the UK's great dance music cities.
Two nights of Southern Fried Records at Patterns this July
Luca Lozano b2b Mr. Ho
Friday 17 July, 23:00 to 04:00, support from Dufraine
Opening the weekend are Luca Lozano and Mr. Ho, playing back to back. The pair run Klasse Wrecks together, a label that started life in Berlin around a decade ago and now operates across two continents, with Lucas Hunter, who records as Luca Lozano, based in the UK and Michael Ho, who records as Mr. Ho, based in Hong Kong. What began as a straightforward record label has grown to include zines, books and clothing alongside the music, built on the pair's shared taste rather than chasing trends. Expect restless, genre-defying selections that move through house, electronics and everything in between, with support from Dufraine.

SHEE and DJ Streaks
Saturday 18 July, 23:00 to 04:00, support from Craig Duranti
Saturday brings SHEE and DJ Streaks to the decks. According to Southern Fried Records, SHEE plays with French touch instincts and genuine emotional weight, while DJ Streaks goes deep into hip hop, electroclash, acid house and baile funk. Support on the night comes from Craig Duranti.

The Details
Both nights run at Patterns, one of Brighton's most established late night spots, right on the seafront at Marine Parade. As the label founded by Fatboy Slim, Southern Fried Records' return feels especially fitting, extending the spirit of Big Beach Boutique long after the main event on the beach ends.
