Work has started on a new £611,000 3G pitch at Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre in Brighton, backed by a £410,000 Football Foundation grant. The council says it opens next spring, with booking priority for women and girls' sessions.

Almost 100 girls from eight Brighton primary schools took part in a rugby festival at Hove Rec in May 2026, part of the council's Sport Lifts Her Higher campaign to make Brighton the UK capital for women and girls in sport.
