Where the money goes and what happens next
Brighton reggae vocal harmony duo The Tribulizations, Frankie Dread and Tara Gold, are asking the community to help raise £22,000 to record, press, distribute and market their new album Togetherness, with money raised beyond that target going to Brighton Antifascists and Sussex Homeless Support. The pre-order crowdfund runs in partnership with ImJustBrighton and is open until April 2027, which is also when the band hope the vinyl will be out, although they say the deadline could be extended.
We put ten questions to the band in an exclusive interview for ImJustBrighton, starting with why they chose a crowdfund over the usual label or self-release route. Releasing a record can be a pricey affair, they explained, but this campaign is meant to do more than pay for vinyl.
“If we can help raise money for a homeless charity and antifascist awareness then this record would have achieved so much from the start.”
The £22,000 target covers seven costs:
Once that target is reached, everything raised on top of it goes to the two causes. “The more we make the more we can donate,” the band told us, adding that both movements are dear to their hearts.
Brighton Antifascists describes itself as fighting fascists and fascism in Brighton and Hove and further afield. Sussex Homeless Support is a volunteer-run registered Brighton charity that relies on donations and runs a Street Kitchen at Old Steine every Saturday, serving meals and giving out clothing, supplies and advice.
The band also told us that ImJustBrighton has always backed their creative projects, and that our positive coverage of events and community in Brighton made the partnership an easy fit. For us it is a pleasure to work with them on raising money and helping people in need across Sussex. Every perk and price sits on the official crowdfund page.

Hard to miss anywhere in Brighton
If you have spent any time in Brighton, you have probably already seen them. Frankie Dread and Tara Gold are some of the most colourful people in the city and they are impossible to miss, turning up around town in outfits nobody else would pull off, from bright orange and yellow to crisp white tailoring with purple trousers, patterned shirts and cow print shoes. The posts below show exactly how good they look, and we love how unique they are.
It is a real pleasure for ImJustBrighton to collaborate with a band that adds this much colour to the city, and to help raise money for people who need it.
Gilly Photography, who has photographed the pair around Brighton more than once, took the portrait below, one more reason this campaign feels like a good fit for ImJustBrighton.

What Togetherness is about
The album deals with sensitive subjects including war, mental health and discrimination, yet its message is peace, love and togetherness, which is the title track and, the band said, made the name an obvious choice.
The duo pay homage to UK style lovers rock and spiritual roots reggae, and their debut album Melody Babylon, produced by Spanish producer Sinky Beatz, arrived in February 2025 with tracks such as Freedom Fighter, Fade Away and One Step Forward. Compared with their SCARS EP, they describe Togetherness as a much more developed sound with very different lyrical content. It is also their first album with a new producer, Lewis M of Room in the Sky, which the band call an amazing, established reggae label in London.
Brighton is at the heart of the record even though most of the musicians are not local. The band said the musicians and collaborators are based in Jamaica, Europe and London, and named Jonah Little on sax as the local exception.
“Brighton has shaped the whole record, it’s allowed us to focus on a positive message of peace and love that this community prioritises.”
Won’t Stop and the road to April 2027
Anyone wanting a taste of the new direction can start with Won’t Stop, produced by Lewis M of Room in the Sky and released on the band’s own Tri Biz label as a blue marbled 7in in April 2026, with Won’t Stop Dubbing on the flip. A launch show is confirmed for when the album is out, with a potential tour to follow.
Pre-order perks and prices
The crowdfund page lists records and shirts from £15, plus perks where the donation goes straight to the two causes. Togetherness items are listed with estimated shipping from April 2027, while older records such as Melody Babylon and Won’t Stop ship within three days. Signed copies and a splatter edition of Melody Babylon are also listed, with prices on the page.
Every pledge, the band say, brings the record closer to being pressed and shared with the world.
The pledge reel above explains how the campaign works in a few lines.
Help get Togetherness made
Asked what they want Brighton to know, the band kept it simple: please go and support the campaign, because they have poured their hearts into this record.
Back the Togetherness LP crowdfund
If the record changes some lives in Brighton, spreads awareness and stands up to fascism, then in the band’s words it would have achieved so much.
