Contributor Terms – ImJustBrighton

Welcome to ImJustBrighton — an independent creative and promotional media platform built and managed by Tim.
ImJustBrighton works in collaboration with partners including Sussex News and Regency Radio, but all creative direction, content management, and publishing decisions are handled by ImJustBrighton.

By submitting photos, videos, stories, or other media (“content”) to ImJustBrighton, you agree to the following terms, which outline your rights as a contributor and how your content may be used across our channels.

1. Grant of License

1.1 License Grant

By sending or submitting any content to ImJustBrighton, you grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to publish, display, reproduce, distribute, adapt, and promote that content across ImJustBrighton’s digital platforms, including our social media, website, and any partner media (for example, Sussex News or Regency Radio).

1.2 Media Partners

When shared with partner platforms, your content will always retain its original credit and won’t be resold, altered, or distributed to other networks or publishers without your consent.

2. Ownership of Copyright

2.1 Your Rights

You always keep full ownership and copyright of your submitted content.
By contributing, you simply give ImJustBrighton permission to use it for editorial, community, or promotional purposes.

2.2 Credit

Where possible, your name or social handle will appear alongside your content.
If you’d rather stay anonymous, please say so when submitting.

3. Acceptance and Publication

3.1 No Guarantee of Publication

We value every contribution but can’t guarantee that every submission will be used or published. Our editorial team reviews all content before it goes live to ensure it fits ImJustBrighton’s community tone and quality standards.

3.2 Editorial Discretion

ImJustBrighton reserves the right to edit or adapt submissions slightly for clarity, size, or suitability — always maintaining respect for the original content and the contributor’s moral rights.

4. Safety and Legal Compliance

4.1 Stay Safe

Never put yourself or others at risk or break any laws when gathering or sending content.
We will not use material that violates privacy, infringes on others’ rights, or contains harmful or offensive material.

5. Third-Party or Embedded Content

Our site and posts may feature embedded videos, images, or links from social media or third-party platforms.
Those external services may collect data or track engagement — please review their own privacy policies to understand how your data is handled when interacting with them.

6. Privacy and Data Use

6.1 Data Protection

Any personal data shared when submitting content (e.g., name, email, social handle) will only be used for communication and crediting purposes in line with UK GDPR.
We don’t sell contributor data or share it outside our trusted platforms.

6.2 Data Retention

Contributor data is retained only as long as necessary to manage publication and crediting, then securely deleted after 12 months, unless ongoing collaboration requires otherwise.

7. Copyright Complaints & Takedowns

If you believe that your work has been used on any ImJustBrighton platform without permission, please email info@imjustbrighton.co.uk with details.
We’ll review and respond to all valid copyright or privacy complaints within 14 days.

8. Limitation of Liability

ImJustBrighton accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or claim arising from the publication or non-publication of submitted content, or from third-party use of your content as permitted under these terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Updates to These Terms

ImJustBrighton may update these Contributor Terms from time to time to reflect changes in operations or legal requirements.
The latest version will always appear here with a new “Last Updated” date.
