Man charged with arson following Brighton fire

A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with arson following a house fire in Brighton last month.
Fire broke out in Warleigh Road
Emergency services were called to Warleigh Road, Brighton, on Saturday 29 August, after a fire was reported to have started spreading inside the living area of a house. Firefighters attended and brought the blaze under control, with officers assisting with road closures while emergency services dealt with the incident. No injuries were reported.
Man charged and remanded
A 33-year-old man, Tinashe Kangira, of no fixed address but formerly of Warleigh Road, was arrested nearby on suspicion of involvement in the fire. He was charged the following day with arson with intent to endanger life.
Kangira appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Monday 31 August, where he was remanded in custody. He is next due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 28 September.
"On Saturday, 29 August, emergency services responded to a report that a fire had begun to spread inside the living area of a house in Warleigh Road. Officers assisted with road closures, and no injuries were reported after the blaze was promptly brought under control by the fire service."
