Summer Park & Ride: the August dates you can still use
Park & Ride passengers travel into the city on Brighton & Hove Buses
Brighton & Hove's summer Park & Ride is still running, with a handful of dates left this August, including the whole bank holiday weekend, for anyone who'd rather skip the hunt for a city-centre parking space.
The scheme lets visitors park at the University of Sussex campus in Falmer and ride into the city on Brighton & Hove Buses' existing number 25 route, straight to the centre. It's aimed at people heading for the seafront, the Lanes, the shops, restaurants, attractions and summer events, without circling for a space or sitting in city-centre traffic.
With several summer dates already gone, here's what still remains – and how it works if you want to use it.
The dates you can still use
The service runs from 9am to 9pm on selected weekend dates. A number of dates earlier in the summer have now passed, but there are still five left, finishing with the August bank holiday.
How it works
Park at the University of Sussex (BN1 9RQ), with easy access from the A23 and A27, follow the signs to the site, then catch the number 25 bus into the city centre. Buses run every 12 minutes during peak times.
What it costs
Rather than everyone paying individually, the fare covers the whole vehicle. Payment is through the PayByPhone app or website.
Why the city runs it
Councillor Trevor Muten, Cabinet member for Transport and City Infrastructure, said the scheme followed a successful trial the previous year, and gives visitors a simple way to park outside the centre and travel in for the seafront, shops and restaurants.
"This is about making busy summer days work better for everyone."

He added that using the well-established 25 route keeps people connected not just to attractions but to other local bus routes for onward journeys, and that bringing more visitors in by bus supports local businesses, reduces emissions and eases pressure on city-centre parking and roads for residents.
If none of the remaining Park & Ride dates suit, the council also points drivers to other park-and-travel options, including using the Withdean Sports Complex car park with the frequent number 27 bus, and its Park Active car parks near local shops, bike hubs and bus routes.
