Adam Myhill, a friend of the late Reggie Kray who carried his coffin, is to tell his story in full for the first time at two events in Brighton on Friday 13 November 2026.
The events lead up to The Krays: Last Kings of London, a follow-up to the 1990 film The Krays that goes into production in 2027. ImJustBrighton was given the story by ARK Movie Productions, the film company behind the events, ahead of a wider release to national press.
Adam Myhill and Reggie Kray
Myhill was 16 when he first visited Reggie Kray in prison. The visits carried on for years and became a friendship that lasted until Kray's death. Myhill later carried the coffin at his funeral.
It has been 26 years since Reggie Kray died. Myhill says he kept the friendship private, sharing it only with a close circle of friends, and that with the next chapter of the Kray story taking shape the time now feels right to tell it. He describes coming from a completely different, non-criminal background, and says the friendship opened doors that led him to work with the film's director, Ray Burdis.
What is happening on Friday 13 November
The day starts with a podcast recording at The Podcast Rooms in Brighton at 12.30pm. Myhill will tell his story alongside Burdis, and the recording is hosted by Lucy Black, founder of BrightIAM Studios.
That evening, ARK is hosting an event at Brighton Beach House, the seafront Soho House club, from 6pm to 10pm. A panel discussion will feature Burdis, Myhill and ARK founder and producer Robert Stushki, with Black chairing. Myhill will share letters, photographs and keepsakes from his friendship with the Krays that have not been seen before.
The evening is strictly by invitation only, with guests from film, media, production and investment. It is not open to the public.
The Krays: Last Kings of London

The new film is set in 1960s London and is told from the point of view of Detective Chief Superintendent Leonard "Nipper" Read, who led the case against the Kray twins, and the woman known as Mrs X, who played a crucial part in bringing them to justice. ARK says it will be a darker and more uncompromising portrayal of the Krays' reign than the 1990 film.
Burdis produced the 1990 film. He now says he got the Krays wrong and regrets it, because it gave them a glamour they never earned. He describes the brothers as "cowardly psychopathic bullies" who terrorised the East End in the 1960s, and says his new film aims to replace the myth with the truth.
Who is behind it
ARK Movie Productions is an independent British film company that develops and produces original feature films and documentaries. Burdis has worked as a producer, director, screenwriter and actor for more than 50 years, and co-wrote and co-directed Final Cut and Love, Honour and Obey.
Lucy Black is a media entrepreneur, presenter and producer, and the founder of BrightIAM Studios. She hosts the podcast and chairs the evening panel.
ImJustBrighton will update this article after the event.
