A veteran vehicle has hit the back of a parked car on Ditchling Road in Brighton on the day of the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, according to footage and a photo sent to ImJustBrighton.
The footage shows the old vehicle moving into the rear of a grey Hyundai estate car parked at the side of the road. The photo, taken afterwards, shows one of its large back wheels lying detached on the road. ImJustBrighton does not yet know whether anyone was hurt.
What the footage shows

The short video was filmed from a passing vehicle. It shows the veteran vehicle, with big spoked wheels and a person sat on board, running into the back of the parked Hyundai. Dust or smoke rises as it stops, and small pieces of debris fall onto the road.
A red car is parked directly in front of the Hyundai. The footage does not show whether any other vehicle was damaged.
Where and when
The person who sent the footage told ImJustBrighton it happened on Ditchling Road, close to The Level, at about 10.49am on Sunday 1 November 2026. We have not been able to confirm the exact time with anyone else.
The photo shows a warning triangle placed on the road, a man standing beside the vehicle, and the detached wheel lying behind it. The vehicle is against the back of the parked car.
Veteran Car Run day in Brighton

Sunday 1 November 2026 was the day of the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the annual event that brings veteran cars built before 1905 from London to the seafront at Brighton. Large numbers of old vehicles were on the roads in and around the city.
ImJustBrighton has not confirmed that the vehicle was taking part in the Run, and it is not known whether Ditchling Road was on its route. We do not know the vehicle owner or driver and we are not naming anyone.
What we do not know yet
Neither Sussex Police nor the Run organisers have commented. We do not know whether police attended, whether anyone was injured, how much damage was done to the parked cars, or whether the road was closed.
ImJustBrighton has asked Sussex Police for information and will update this report when we hear back.
