Getting there
Trains: engineering work between Brighton and Worthing on 7 and 8 November means buses replace all trains, so journey times will be longer. Paper train tickets are accepted at no extra cost on Brighton & Hove bus routes 1, 2, 6, 7, 46 and 49.
Free travel for veterans: Brighton & Hove Buses and Stagecoach are both offering free travel on Remembrance Sunday (8 November) and Armistice Day (11 November) to veterans and serving military personnel who carry a valid military or veterans' ID card.
Councillor Amanda Grimshaw, the city's Armed Forces Champion, said it is "an honour to mark Remembrance each year" and invited everyone to join a local event or take a quiet moment to reflect.
The details above come from Brighton & Hove City Council's news release, "Marking Remembrance across the city", published on 4 November 2026.
