Brighton Bids £41 Million to Repair 38 More King's Road Arches in Phases 6 and 7

Brighton and Hove City Council has submitted a £41 million bid to the Department for Transport to repair and strengthen 38 more Victorian seafront arches beneath King's Road, focusing on the arches east of Shelter Hall. Cabinet met on 3 September to approve the council's £4 million contribution. A decision from the DfT is expected in autumn 2026.
