Brighton, the Summer Series is coming home

One of Brighton's most exciting young events brands is throwing a three night party on the seafront this July, and entry is free. Groove Cartel presents the Summer Series, a brand new run of nights at Tide Night Club on Kings Road Arches, with secret line-ups, free entry before 12:30am and a focus on putting the city's best up and coming DJs in front of a proper crowd.

Running across three Saturdays in July, the series teams Groove Cartel up with two fellow South Coast brands before they close the whole thing out themselves. It is all powered by ImJustBrighton, and it is shaping up to be one of the standout runs of the Brighton summer.

Who are Groove Cartel

Groove Cartel is a Brighton based events brand that has been going for just under one and a half years. In that short time they have built a serious reputation, hosting events not only in Brighton but internationally, taking the brand from the shores of Brighton to Amsterdam twice and to Malta twice, once for a sell out show and once for a festival.

The Summer Series is their statement of intent for the city. "The concept behind the Summer Series is to champion upcoming and local DJs as we feel like they don't get the chances they deserve," the team told us. "The series is designed to give them the platform to show the ravers what they got. Event tickets can be expensive so we thought making them free would also encourage more people to experience what we do as a brand." Free entry, secret line-ups and a brand built on backing fresh talent, that is the pitch.

4 July, Groove Cartel x Lullaby

Part one of the Summer Series lands on Saturday 4 July with Groove Cartel x Lullaby, running 11pm to 5am at Tide Night Club. Big energy, intimate vibes and limited capacity, this one kicks the series off in style.

Lullaby are a Worthing based events brand and close friends of Groove Cartel. "We really value what they have done for us at our early stages so it felt only right to be linking up with them again," the team said. Doors and the dancefloor open from 11pm, with the all important free entry available before 12:30am while tickets last.

11 July, Groove Cartel x House11

Part two arrives on Saturday 11 July with Groove Cartel x House11, a house and tech house night running 9:30pm to 4am. With an earlier start than the other two dates, there is even more time on the floor.

House11 are a Surrey based brand who recently became close friends with the Groove Cartel team. "They are exactly like us and have the same drive, not to forget their brand is amazing too, so we can't wait for that show," they told us. As with every night in the series, expect good energy, top tier music and free entry before 12:30am.

18 July, the Groove Cartel finale

The series closes on Saturday 18 July with the Groove Cartel Summer Series Finale, back to 11pm to 5am for one last dance. Big energy, quality music and unforgettable vibes, with the team promising to close out the summer the right way.

The whole run is built around giving the spotlight to the next wave of talent. "Expect it to be local and upcoming talent, the night will be curated with DJs looking to showcase their skills," the team said of the line-ups, which are being kept secret until the night. "We have full faith that they will deliver."

Free tickets, but moving fast

The big draw across all three nights is that entry is free before 12:30am, with a small paid option for later arrivals. It is a deliberate move to open the brand up to as many people as possible, but it does mean demand is high.

"The response has been crazy to these events, we expect all to sell out," the team told us. "The free tickets are moving very fast so don't miss out." All three nights are 18+ and take place at Tide Night Club, 211-214 Kings Road Arches, Brighton BN1 1NB, a seafront venue rated 4.5 out of 5. You can grab your free ticket for each night through the links above.

Powered by ImJustBrighton

The Summer Series is proudly powered by ImJustBrighton, and for the team it was a natural fit. "We chose ImJustBrighton to power the series as we have worked previously with him and he really does care about the city of Brighton," they said. "It felt only right to have such a great person and page involved."

With free entry, secret line-ups and a brand on a real upward run, the Groove Cartel Summer Series is one to keep an eye on this July. And going by their teases, there may still be one more curveball to drop before it is all over.
