Brighton & Hove Albion visit Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 31 October 2026, kick-off 3pm UK time, in the Premier League. It is Albion’s second trip to the Etihad in four days, after the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie on Wednesday 28 October.
Albion are third in the table on 16 points after eight games. City and Arsenal lead on 21. Here is what you need to know before the match, with team news to follow when the clubs release it.

How Albion arrive
Albion have won five, drawn one and lost two of their eight league games, with 23 goals scored and seven conceded. The most recent league game was a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday 25 October, their first league defeat since August. The match before that was a 5-0 home win over Crystal Palace.

We covered both games in our Liverpool 2 Albion 0 report and our Albion 5 Crystal Palace 0 report. Our Man City v Albion Carabao Cup preview has the Carabao Cup tie on Wednesday night.
How City arrive
City lost 2-1 at Aston Villa last Saturday. Head coach Enzo Maresca said on the club’s website that five players, Erling Haaland, Elliot Anderson, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Joško Gvardiol and captain Rúben Dias, were given three days off afterwards.
Maresca has said Albion will be a hard opponent in both games, as published by City:
“First of all, they are doing very well so both games will be tough. They are very brave, aggressive and when they have the ball they attack with so many players.”
Enzo Maresca, Manchester City head coach

What Hurzeler has said
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler has not lost to City in four games in charge. Before the Carabao Cup tie, he told the club playing the best teams is the point:
“… if you want to achieve something you have to compete with the best teams. We had a good experience in Manchester before.”
Fabian Hurzeler, Albion head coach
He also described how City play under Maresca:
“They press very intensely with man rotation, so that’s definitely a change. Therefore, we have to be prepared for that; we not only face a good team, we also face really good individual players.”
Fabian Hurzeler, Albion head coach
The record against City
Albion are unbeaten in four Premier League games against City, with two wins and two draws, their best run against them, the club says. They have never won away at City in 16 attempts in all competitions, with four draws and 12 defeats.
Albion have scored more goals than any other side in the top flight this season, according to City’s website.
Tickets, travel and TV
Albion’s away tickets for this game cost £30 for adults, £25 for ages 18 to 21 and over-65s, and £20 for under-18s, the club says. Tickets are digital only and were due to be sent to supporters on Thursday 29 October. Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The match is worth 15 loyalty points.
