Councillor Bella Sankey, Leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, is holding her next ward surgery at Patcham Community Centre on Tuesday 3 November, and residents can book an appointment slot now.

The surgery runs from 1pm to 3pm at the centre on Ladies’ Mile Road, BN1 8TA, in Patcham & Hollingbury ward, the council says. It is the latest in a series that gives residents the chance to share ideas, raise concerns or ask questions directly to the leader.

How to book a slot

The council asks residents to download and complete its leader’s ward surgery action sheet. It is a Word document, and the council says you must save your own copy to your computer before you can edit it.

What to include. The form asks for your name, address and email address, the main issue you want to raise, such as Housing, Benefits, Debt or Parking, as specific as you can be, and the outcome you are hoping for. You must also complete the consent and data protection notice on page 3.

Where to send it. The council’s action sheet page says to email the completed sheet to Anthony.Carroll@brighton-hove.gov.uk.

No email? Call 07717 303 127 and leave a voicemail with your name and phone number. The council says someone will call you back to arrange a time.

Need another format? The council says the document may not suit assistive technology, and you can ask for an accessible version through its website contact form.

Where to find it

What the Leader says

Councillor Sankey said:

“I’m looking forward to speaking with residents and learning more about what is important to them in Patcham & Hollingbury and across the city.

“As a council, we are committed to maintaining an open dialogue with our communities, and leader surgeries provide a good opportunity for residents to raise concerns, share experiences and contribute ideas that can help shape the future of our city.

“I would encourage anyone who would like a conversation about their area, the city as a whole, or any challenges they are facing to come along and have their say.”
