Brighton and Hove Council Clears 600 Drains Ahead of Autumn Storms as Flood Strategy Consultation Nears Close

Contractors are clearing almost 600 drains and gullies across 237 flood risk roads in Brighton and Hove this autumn. More than 46,000 residents live in areas at risk of surface water flooding, and the consultation on the city's new Local Flood Risk Management Strategy closes at midnight on Saturday 26 September 2026.
