Brighton and Hove City Council has ruled out a costly rebuild of New England House and will instead open more than 30,000 square feet of workspace at Phoenix House and Lyndean House for creative businesses, while beginning the long-term regeneration of the site.

Brighton and Hove has launched Re:Frame, a new report setting out how to protect and grow the city's visual arts scene. The council says creative industries contribute over £1.5 billion and support 16,000 jobs, but the sector faces funding cuts and lost venues.
