How Albion arrive

Albion began the league phase with a 4-0 home win over Kauno Zalgiris on Thursday 15 October. Georginio scored twice, with Jack Hinshelwood and Matt O’Riley also on target. We covered it in our Albion 4 Kauno Zalgiris 0 report.

A week later Albion drew 0-0 at Jablonec, the club says, with 79 per cent of the possession and 23 shots, only five of them on target. It was the first time Albion had failed to score this season. Read our Jablonec 0 Albion 0 report.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler told the club’s website after Jablonec that Albion must be “brilliant at the basics” in this competition, and that they were not.

How Getafe arrive

Getafe have taken one point from two league-phase games, according to their website’s results. They drew 1-1 away at Universitatea Craiova on 15 October, then lost 2-5 at home to Lugano at the Coliseum on 22 October.

Getafe’s website also lists two Conference League qualifying games against Partizan this season, a 3-1 home win and a 2-1 away defeat. In La Liga, Getafe’s results show two wins, three draws and four defeats in their first nine matches this season.

Getafe’s website lists the Coliseum as the home ground for three of their six league-phase games. Albion’s first ticket notice in September said the away allocation was limited because of stadium construction.

What is at stake

All 36 teams play six games and are ranked in one table. The club says the top eight go straight into the round of 16, teams in 9th to 24th enter a two-legged knockout play-off round, and those in 25th or lower are eliminated.

After Getafe, three league-phase games remain: Universitatea Craiova at home on Thursday 26 November, Monaco at home on Thursday 10 December and Panathinaikos away on Thursday 17 December.

Tickets, TV and the 1901 Pub

Albion supporters at the Coliseum have 562 tickets and eight wheelchair spaces, provided by Getafe, the club says. Adult tickets cost £17, and the fixture is worth five loyalty points. Away tickets are for the named owner only, and passing one on can lead to club sanctions and a possible 50-point loyalty deduction.

Watch at the Amex: the club is showing Getafe v Albion on a big screen in the new 1901 Pub lounge. Doors open at 5pm, tickets are £6 and include a first drink. Places are booked through the club’s ticket site, under the “terracescreenings” category. The club will also show the Panathinaikos game on Thursday 17 December.

ImJustBrighton note: After Getafe, Albion host Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday 8 November at 2pm. See every date in our Albion fixtures guide.
