Brighton & Hove Albion host Brentford at the American Express Stadium on Sunday 8 November 2026, kick-off 2pm UK time, in the Premier League. The game is live on Sky Sports.
Albion are third in the table on 16 points and Brentford are sixth on 11, both after eight league games. This preview reflects the position on Thursday 29 October and will be updated when the clubs release team news.

How Albion arrive
Form: Albion have won five, drawn one and lost two of their eight league games, scoring 23 goals and conceding seven. The latest was a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday 25 October, after a 5-0 home win over Crystal Palace.
Cup exit: On Wednesday 28 October Albion drew 2-2 with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Carabao Cup fourth round and lost 4-3 on penalties, the club says.

We covered both league games in our Liverpool 2 Albion 0 report and our Albion 5 Crystal Palace 0 report, and the cup tie in our Man City 2 Albion 2 report.
Team news: Ferdi Kadioglu and Chema Andres both picked up hip injuries at Liverpool, and their fitness was to be assessed before the Carabao Cup tie. Mats Wieffer, who has a knee injury and missed nine games, and Yankuba Minteh, who has a knee injury from pre-season, were back in contention for that tie, the club said.
How Brentford arrive
Form: Brentford have lost only one of their eight league games, with two wins, five draws and one defeat. They have scored 14 and conceded nine. Both wins were 3-0 at home, against Tottenham on Saturday 22 August and Chelsea on Friday 18 September.
Their only league defeat was 2-1 at home to Liverpool on Saturday 17 October. They drew 1-1 at Hull City on Sunday 25 October, the most recent result.
Team news: Before the Hull game, head coach Keith Andrews said Nathan Collins and Mathias Jensen were taking further steps in their recoveries, and Jannik Schuster was back in training after a knock and illness. Rico Henry was ruled out of Brentford’s Carabao Cup tie at Sunderland on Wednesday 28 October through injury, the club said. Read the club’s Hull team news.
Brentford host Nottingham Forest at 3pm on Saturday 31 October, eight days before they travel to Falmer.
What Hurzeler has said
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler welcomed the return of Wieffer and Minteh before the Carabao Cup tie and said returning players must raise the standard. He said, in the club’s team news piece:
“We are all looking forward to having these players back because, before the injuries, they were big players for us. Of course, the team is playing very well, so it also means that the returning players have to raise their standards, but that’s only positive for our culture.”
