Man Found Dead After Being Recovered From the Sea in Brighton

Emergency services were called to Brighton seafront on Wednesday morning after reports of a person spotted in the water.

The alarm was raised at around 6.40am near Sea Lanes on Madeira Drive. A man was recovered from the sea by emergency responders but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Sussex Police said efforts are continuing to identify the man and inform his next of kin. A spokesperson for the force said: "Attempts to identify the man and notify his next of kin remain ongoing."

The incident took place in the same area of Brighton seafront where the bodies of three sisters were recovered from the sea several weeks ago.

Police have not released any further details about the man or the circumstances surrounding his death. Enquiries remain ongoing.
